Meet Kanika

Hello, my name is Kanika Covert. After becoming a foster parent, I was inspired to establish a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting foster and at-risk youth. My mission is to connect with local communities and schools, expand outreach to surrounding communities, foster programs, juvenile detention centers, churches, and beyond. We aim to provide a supportive network and essential resources to help these young individuals thrive.

Since founding my non-profit, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with other organizations across the globe to share our mission and learn from their experiences. This exchange of ideas has been invaluable in shaping our approach and expanding our impact. With the launch of Girls Are Leaders Too, we have created three distinct mentoring programs designed to impart essential life skills to children and young adults aged 5-18, as well as a tutoring program.

Our programs focus on personal development, educational support, and leadership training. We believe that every child has the potential to succeed, and our goal is to equip them with the tools and confidence they need to navigate life's challenges. Through workshops, tutoring, one-on-one mentoring, and community service projects, we strive to foster a sense of purpose and belonging.

The most rewarding part of this journey? I get to pursue my passion while inspiring youth to achieve their fullest potential. Seeing them grow, overcome obstacles, and become leaders in their own right is incredibly fulfilling. Together, we are building a brighter future, one leader at a time.
